Oven Lovin'

I got an oven!

It's a thang o' beauty. Fits on the countertop (kinda) but is quite spacious on the inside. There is room for three racks though I only received one rack and one shallow pan-rack thing with purchase.

Looky there!

A sweet pan grabber device.

This mad crazy appliance even has a rotating rotisserie skewer! So potentially, if I am craving a caveman style barbeque, I can go buy a tiny chicken or quail or something and rotisserie it!

Torture device?

My first meal made in the oven was a vegetarian shepherd's pie. It turned out that the glass tupperware I bought randomly at the grocery store is safe for oven usage. It is now my small casserole dish as well as main heatproof tup-tup. I decided to take a gorgeous photo of said pie with some paper poinsettias and my oven mitt aka kitchen towel.

Melted cheese on top!

This oven was mainly an excuse to do some holiday baking. I made three batches of cookies: one toffee, one sugar and one gingerbread. The sugar and gingerbread recipes were amazing and huge, so I made three batches with each one. I am now an expert at rolling and cutting dough. I may go into the baking business.

Snowflake gingerbread cookies.

I also purchased an amazing product that is the silicon baking sheet, or pan liner! Because they didn't have any small pans at the kitchen store (ovens are not common), the lady handed me a little rolled up silicon sheet which I lay across the rack. It heats fairly evenly and keeps the bottoms of the cookies aerated and soft. No burned bottoms!  I absolutely love it and will probably invest in more silicon cookware. Definitely worth the cost.

Wish you could've tried the goods! Next year if you're nice and not too naughty!

Happy Holidays!
